Welcome to the Northern District Softball Association (NDSA). We have been an Association here in the North for over 25 years and are part of the Victorian Softball Association (VSA). We offer softball to all ages and abilities here at our Mill Park Stadium with no travelling to other venues.
Blastball is a modified version of softball for our youngest players, ages 3-5. Blastball involves a team of participants learning various skills, incorporating elements of catching, throwing, batting and running. It involves activities and drills that will improve children’s hand eye coordination. We use foam balls, bats, a Tee and a base with a horn inside which provides a safe and fun learning environment.
Tee-Ball is suited for players U10 years of age to help children develop skills toward a more advanced level of softball in a more controlled setting. The diamond size, equipment and rules have been modified to provide a safe environment for learning and having fun.
Junior softball offers the game of softball to players of primary school and junior school age (roughly 8 to 14 years of age). This year we are very excited to offer a Primary competition for those children who are not ready for our Junior school competition. We will provide skills training and modified games with the introduction of pitching and use of the Tee so children can learn to hit to live pitching as well as working on their fielding skills. Our Junior school competition is a normal softball game with the use of a smaller softball which will continue to teach the fundamentals of softball to young players.
Senior softball is for Senior high students allowing them to continue to learn the game of softball with young adults. Open Women’s is for those players 14 years and up who want to have a bit of competition and a bit of fun. It is for all ages and for all abilities.
We are excited to reintroduce Men’s softball to the park this year. We have 1 travelling team who will be playing in the North-West League and also a Men’s Social Comp on Saturday evenings.
